Thinking tools
Creative thinking tools
With this creative thinking tool there are six different coloured, imaginary/metaphorical hats that can be put on or taken off. (Actual hat symbols can be used with children).
The whole group wears the same colour hat at the same time (i.e. everyone does the same type thinking at the same time) and all participants change hats at the same time (i.e. everyone changes thinking from one mode to another at the same time). It is critical that all participants do the same type of thinking at the same time. This is termed Parallel Thinking and is central to the success of the framework.
The Six Thinking Hats® can be used by individuals alone or by groups together, having a dramatic impact on the situation being considered.
