Brian Terry is an Educational Consultant with considerable experience of successful innovation in schools. His career has spanned over 30 years, with six years as a Head of Science and a further six years at Senior Management level. He has been involved in a number of publications, including textbooks for Oxford University Press and articles on raising achievement in general and that of boys in particular. Following his time in schools, Brian spent three years as an Advisor for Humberside before becoming a Consultant. He is an accredited Edward de Bono Education Consultant and as such has delivered Six Thinking Hats, CoRT1 Directed Thinking and Lateral Thinking courses for Local Authorities as well as individual schools at all levels. He has, also, been working in the field of mentoring and academic coaching for many years, trained mentors from a variety of backgrounds and helped set up mentoring programmes in a number of schools. His longest association is with a peer mentoring programme in a highly successful comprehensive school. This programme has been running for nine years and evaluations point to it making a significant contribution to raising attainment.
